Using a questioning framework for strategic insight, two coach instructors from Columbia University will conduct an on-stage coaching demonstration with an organizational client. This session will introduce and demonstrate a conversational framework that coaches can use to expand their questioning repertoire in coaching clients for exploring multiple perspectives, making personal meaning and taking informed action. During the demonstration, the audience will be given opportunities to become the coach by divining the next best question to serve and advance the client's agenda. Attendees will be provided a window of transparency into the client's experience and the coach's process through facilitated dialogue between the audience and the players on stage. Prerequisite: Those seeking to question.

3 Coaches for 1 Client
A New Coaching Model
Thursday, October 28, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. /1630-1800
CCEU: 1.5 CC

What is the experience like for a client to engage in one coaching session, simultaneously working with three distinguished coaches, each with different coaching styles?  Indulgent, you might say? Just whisper: "Yes." Share the joy by coming to watch three coaches collaborate as one improvisational unit while they serve their client's problem, challenge or opportunity. Audience participation will be facilitated by a Master Certified Coach who will invite the session's next move by using the wisdom in the room. You'll also hear from the client and the coaches as they weigh in on this unique coaching experience.

1 Coach for 5 Clients
Coaching a Generational Group on Their Next Voyage
Led by Andrea Barrett
(view bio) and facilitated by David Matthew Prior, MCC (view bio)
CCEU: 2.0 CC
Friday, October 28, 4:00 p.m. - 6:00p.m. /1600-1800
Building on the morning's Global Conversation on Aging, we have assembled five clients of the Wisdom Generation (Gen W) who are each poised to chart their next course of work and life through the integrated lens of purpose, passion and fulfillment. How does a coach work to support individual agenda while serving the group as client? What are the emergent possibilities in coaching a like-minded group into deeper self understanding and expanded group alignment? What is different for the individual when coached in the group setting? The audience will be facilitated by a Master Certified Coach who will be collaborating with a Role Coach as the session is paused periodically for the audience to share their experience as the objective observer.
