Wisdom Circles for Core Competencies

Global Conversations: Inspiring individuals, Building communities, Impacting the world

Areas of Focus:  Coaching & Leadership      Coaching & Organizations      Impact in the World      Mind, Body & Spirit

Understanding and deepening the inner meaning of every Core Competency is one of the most challenging aspects of being a coach. Every single competency, if  properly expressed by the coach during the coaching session, can help and support the quality of the session itself and create a win for the coaching partners. The real comprehension of every core competency is much more than a judgement of what is right or wrong. These Wisdom Circles will try to serve the coach who wishes to deepen awareness regarding specific core competencies, including the list below. Each session will feature a short coaching demo followed by group discussion with the objective of collecting more understanding about the meaning and the way to use it within the session.

These six sessions each will receive 1.50 CCEUs in Core Competencies.

Ethical Choices for the 21st Century - Balancing Business, Clients and Self
Thursday, December 3: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m./1100-1230
CCEU: 1.50 CC

Join ICF Ethics and Standards Committee Chair, Jeanne Erikson, PCC, Greg Gillis, Business Dispute Resolution Sub-Committee Chair, and Liora Rosen, Ethics Education Sub-Committee Chair, in exploring the ethical landscape of the new ICF Code of Ethics. (See Speakers page for bios.)

Reviewing a summary of the changes, you will engage in interactive exercises that will challenge your perceptions and highlight some elements that affect our ethical decisions and behavior, and how ethical choices in professional coaching are much more than just your frame of reference.

In this how-to session based on the concept of "Think Professionally-Act Ethically," we will focus on what you need to know, the filters and rationalizations that accompany the decision-making process, and how to balance your business and ethics as a coach. You will leave this session with a greater understanding of yourself, your ethics and the revised ICF Code of Ethics, as well as practical methods for strengthening your business and ethical competency as a coach.
