"People should look forward to the 2010 conference as an international event with opportunities to learn from others, and improve one's credibility, visibility, and contacts within the profession.... This year's conference will meet your professional growth needs as well as your personal growth needs. It will develop you both as a person and a coach." - Lynn Meinke, PCC, Chair 2010 Conference Education Steering Committee
Quality Presenters
Over the years ICF conference attendees have come expect professional quality educational sessions with speakers who are not only subject matter experts, but who are also culturally sensitive and have excellent speaking/facilitation skills. This year's ICF Conference Education Steering Committee has introduced additional criteria to ensure presenters meet the highest standards. Through video submissions, speakers will undergo peer review and be selected for their ability to connect with their audience as well as excellent speaking skills and expert knowledge on the presentation topic. (The deadline has passed to submit a speaker application.) Check back in June to read about this year's speakers from all over the world!
More Networking
ICF attendees asked for more networking and that's what they'll get in Fort Worth! Educational sessions, considered the heart of conference by many attendees, will take on a more interactive, less lecture format. Attendees want to learn in the moment and have something to take away and that's what we want to give them this year. To do this, most breakout rooms will be set up with tables and/or groups of chairs to promote a high level of interaction immediately among attendees. In addition, speakers are required to incorporate interaction into their session, not only between speaker and participant but participant to participant as well.
The Conference Education Steering Committee invites you to read the descriptions for each area of focus via the navigation bar on the left to give you a great overview of what to expect in each area. Please come back in June when all educational sessions and speakers will be announced.
