New Mexico Chapter of the ICF (USA)
Submitted by ICF member Jean Strosinski, Ph.D., PCC
The New Mexico Chapter of the ICF established a Coaching Week 2010 Committee early in 2009. This committee met virtually once a month since March 2009 with an express desire to be ready for Coaching Week 2010. The chapter members predominantly reside in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, geographically separated by about 60 miles or an hour in driving distance.

The chapter planned two events for their geographically challenged chapter members to participate in:
1) They kicked off Coaching Week with a presence at the State Roundhouse while the NM State Legislature was in session in Santa Fe at the capital building on February 11. They joined other non-profit organizations in the rotunda.

2) They continued the spirit of Coaching Week and their promotion of the profession with a half day of facilitated working sessions of Coaching Tools highlighting the gifts of their members as they partnered with the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce on February 19.

They had an enthusiastic group of chapter members volunteer to support both of these events

ICF Phoenix Chapter and the Tucson Professional Coaches Alliance (USA)
Submitted by Frank Brogni, ACC, CPC, President, Tucson Professional Coaches Alliance
The ICF Phoenix Chapter and the Tucson Professional Coaches Alliance created a joint partnership with the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) to conduct complimentary 30-minute coaching sessions at appointed times throughout the entire week of February 8 through February 12. ASBA is a statewide organization representing over 3,500 small- to medium-sized businesses. The joint Arizona ICF Chapters approached ASBA as part of their Community Outreach efforts in a spirit of service and they reciprocated by offering a joint Organizational Membership to the Chapters. The Boards of both Chapters accepted ASBA's invitation and immediately offered to conduct a celebration event during International Coaching Week.

As part of their marketing plan, a general announcement, including links to both Chapter's Web sites, was posted in the associations newsletter that circulated to the entire membership statewide. This will continued each week until the event. Each Chapter appointed a volunteer to coordinate enrollments and schedule both in-person coaching sessions held in two locations or sessions by phone. Coaches in both chapters eagerly came forth to offer their services. Each of the Chapters also worked to create a webpage to feature the profiles of participating coaches in order to make the association members selection of a coach more personal.

EUROPE AND THE MIDDLE EAST

ICF Hungary
Submitted by ICF Hungary
The Hungarian ICF Chapter, for the second time in its two-year history, celebrated International Coaching Week with a series of interesting programs, including a full-day workshop with Werner Vogelauer, MCC; the ICF Business Coach Club; Coach Orientation Workshop; and an Alumni event.

They also conducted a mini research survey on the coaching market in the Central and Eastern regions of Europe. For ICW, the Board of Directors of the Hungarian Chapter of ICF made an inquiry to the Central and Eastern Europe ICF Chapters. The coaching market is way behind in the region, compared to Western Europe (in the number of coachees, the market size, the years of experience, etc.). They were keen to know the most significant reasons, beyond obvious economic and historical facts.
