Deadline to Apply for a Global 2010 ICF Committee is Oct. 2

GiovannaThe 2010 ICF Global Committee Interest form will be available on Coachfederation.org until October 2 for members to apply to serve on a global committee.

In its continuous evolution, our organization depends on a diverse, visionary and knowledge-based volunteer leadership structure for strong growth and development. Each leadership role at the ICF is vital for the organization's advancement and influence in the global coaching community.

Those who serve on a global committee can expect to experience intimate dialogue/networking with peers, knowledge expansion, and, perhaps most importantly, leadership development.

In my past experience as Treasurer and global Board Member, and in the actual role of President-Elect, I've had the opportunity to grow personally and professionally to a great extent. The quality of the conversations has been inspiring; the caliber of the professionals I collaborated with offered me new insights, wisdom and knowledge; and experiencing leadership in a volunteer-based environment expanded my skills, which have built greater opportunity to my clients as well.

If you are interested in serving on one of the global ICF Committees, there are three important questions you should ask yourself before filling out the interest form.

  • What are your goals for serving on a global ICF Committee?
  • For you, what skills and experiences do you have that make you a good candidate for a global ICF Committee?
  • Which ICF Committee (s) would allow you to truly use these skills?

The interest form, along with details and further information on the ICF Committee appointment process, eligibility criteria and an overview of duties involved with global ICF Committees, is available at Coachfederation.org.

I invite you to express your interest in serving on a global committee by October 2. It is especially important to note that even current committee members interested in participating in 2010 are also required to complete this form by October 2.

Each year, we receive an overwhelming number of interest forms. And as President-Elect, I will have the distinct pleasure of assisting in this very important selection process. The thorough consultations with 2009 committee chairs, ICF staff, and a few other key individuals involved in this process, will assist me in appointing those who will serve on the 2010 global committees.

Once the 2010 committees are formed, every person who submitted an interest form will be notified by e-mail.

Serving on a global committee, though sometimes challenging, is an excellent developmental opportunity, allowing for connection and inspiration with peers, as well as a chance to partner with us in designing the future of ICF for years to come. I strongly encourage all interested ICF members to submit an interest form by October 2. Visit Coachfederation.org today!

Kind regards,

Giovanna D'Alessio, MCC
ICF President-Elect
