DEADLINE FOR PETITIONS: 5 p.m. (New York), October 17, 2011

According to the ICF bylaws, all ICF Credentialed members in good standing may petition to have his or her name included on the ballot to run for any open position except president. The petition process is as follows:

1. Please notify the ICF of your intention to participate as a "Call for Petition Candidate" as soon as possible in writing by email at icfheadquarters@coachfederation.org or by fax at +1.859.226.4411. On your petition, indicate whether you are choosing to run for president-elect or a directors' seat. You must have been an ICF Board member for at least one year to qualify to run for president-elect.

2. Include the following items with your notice: a 200-word description of your vision and plans for assuming a leadership role in ICF; your resume (two-page maximum); your bio including volunteer positions you have held with the ICF, as well as ICF and non-ICF Credentials (1-page maximum); and a color photo (head shot) in an electronic format - jpeg, gif, tif or png.

3. You will need to obtain support from 50 ICF members in good standing. Electronic signatures are preferred. Please make sure that if you ask members to sign electronically, the emails must be sent to ICF Headquarters (icfheadquarters@coachfederation.org) with "Call for Petitions" in the subject line and the member's email address must be in the "from" line. This email address must match the email address the member has posted in the ICF files. If not, the signature will not be accepted. Be sure to ask the member to include his or her membership number and your name plus a position you are running for in the email.

Should you decide to collect actual signatures of the members, the ballot list has to include your name and the position you are running for, the names and membership numbers of your supporters, and their actual signatures.

Once petitions are in and verified, the full list of nominations will be announced. A ballot will be prepared and posted online for the official vote. The results of the election (new 2012 Board members) will be announced in November.

If there are no petitions received for a position, the individuals nominated by the Nominating Committee will be considered elected to the position.
